Hello Accursed,
I'm taking a quick break in the middle of my holiday vacation to get out our last update of 2025. Onyx Path is in the process of printing their first book with a new printing partner, and hopefully it goes smoothly and they can spend 2026 catching up on some of the print production that has been so challenging over the past 16 months. I'll continue to track their progress and share new information in our monthly updates throughout 2026.
Obviously, the big release for the year is our Curseborne core rulebook, but there's been a lot of fun support for this new game over 2025, and even more exciting things to come in 2026.
We also had a successful Kickstarter for our Curseborne Player's Guide, which you can Pre-Order here if you missed out and receive the draft manuscript while the Onyx Path team works on the eventual backer PDF.
Pending Rewards
Obviously, getting print production moving forward will be the big focus for Onyx Path and our reward updates in the new year, and I'll keep you updated as our hardcover versions move closer to manufacturing later this year. In the meantime, we'll look forward to our Stretch Goal rewards, including the Tangled Webs and Adventure supplements. I'll share preview artwork as it sneaks out.

November 2025 Update - Discounted PoD, Finalized PDF

Thanks to your feedback and support, Onyx Path has now fine-tuned the Curseborne PDF, implemented your feedback where appropriate, fixed all of the page numbers, and the finalized PDF will be available tomorrow in your DriveThruRPG digital library.
Once it's updated tomorrow morning, you can access your DTRPG Digital Library at any time and download the latest version of the book at your convenience.
On Wednesday November 19th, Onyx Path will release the PDF for purchase on DriveThruRPG. When that happens, they'll also make a print-on-demand version of that PDF availble for purchase. As one of your rewards, you may have access to a discount link that will allow you to add this PoD hardcover to your cart at a reduced price, should you wish to buy a hardcopy of the finalized PDF.

DIFFERENCES IN PoD FORMATS
So, for those backers who pledged at the PDF reward tier, or those backers who will later be receiving the hardcover book but might be looking for a second copy for the table, there are two different versions of Print-On-Demand options available.
Standard Color uses a thick 70# white paper which has better page opacity. (that's "70 pound" for reference, but does not mean each page weighs 70 lbs!). Standard Heavyweight Color uses inkjet technology. (These are not the same inkjet printers you have at home - these are often as big or bigger than a car!) This option offers lower cost but the colors won't be as sharp or bright as a Premium Color book.
Premium Color uses the same 70# paper, but uses "Digital Color Print Engine Technology," which sounds super fancy and certainly costs a lot more, but I'll admit to not knowing the exact difference. This option offers superior color quality but is more expensive to produce, and has gotten even more expensive over the past year.
(Remember to login to DriveThruRPG prior to clicking or pasting the discount link in your BackerKit digital rewards locker, if you that was part of your rewards list! That link is your coupon and must be usedfor your PoD order.)

Onyx Path are partnering with a new printer (seriously, keeping an ongoing relationship with printers in these chaotic times has been an issue!) and will hopefully have a few successful books run through their system and work out the kinks so they can move forward with getting our Curseborne hardcover editions printed on schedule next year. The Tangled Webs supplement has gone into the first stage of Art Direction, with the developers writing up all of the interior illustration notes and the Art Director finding artists, setting schedules, and working on contracts. The Curseborne Adventure supplement is in the second stage of Art Direction, with artists actively working on their illustrations, submitting sketches and moving forward as artwork is approved.

It's been almost a year since our campaign ended, and I'm back with our regular month end update. I feel like I've been in touch a bunch over the past month as we complete the first year of this phase of the project, but let's go over where we currently stand.

The Curseborne Player’s Guide is primarily focused on the players at the table who take on the role of individual characters. If you’re a Storyguide, you can expect to find ideas that help you prompt the other players and frame their place in the world. Use these to create details that resonate with a player’s intentions and to direct the story to places where the main characters’ themes and concepts can flourish. Other players can expect to find tools to develop your character, both in your narration and on your character sheet.
In this book, we introduce grounding concepts for playing the Accursed, providing role-playing hooks and touchstones rooted in the world they find themselves. These are intended for both brand-new players looking for a place to start and for players in the middle of a story who are open to new angles and complications. We expand on all the types of Accursed introduced in the Curseborne corebook, including those who don’t have a family to call their own, but also provide even more ways to express and wield the power of curses through new spells. We even add a new angle to the world of Curseborne as we present playable rules for the monster-hunting Venators, who contend with the same supernatural forces as the Accursed without Damnations of their own.
The team has your feedback submissions from the Curseborne corebook Backer PDF and are working on finalizing the PDF (and adding in all of the page numbers and references). Once that's done, I'll let you know and you can download the latest version from your DriveThruRPG digital library. The Storyguide Screen is currently in layout, and the interior illustrations for the Adventure Supplement have been contracted and artists have begun work. This are moving along nicely.

Drawing enthusiastically on Greek mythology, Scarred Lands offers a world shaped by gods and monsters. Only the greatest of heroes can expect to be counted among them. The Divine War left the world of Scarn ravaged. From the battle-scarred continent of Ghelspad to the desert wastelands of Asherak, the wounds of war still fester. This is the first version of Accursed Tales to be released. The design and development teams have done their best to proofread and correct any errors and typos - but some always sneak through. If you catch any typos, visual glitches, and the like, we want to hear about them and correct them before we send the book off to print.

Mid-Month Update - Curseborne Player's Guide on Kickstarter

I'll be back with our regular monthly update at the end of the month, but I wanted to switch it up a bit to highlight some of the Curseborne activities that have been going on during this spookly month!
BACKER PDF IS OUT
First up, unless you've missed it, you know the Backer PDF came out almost three weeks ago. I was already impressed with the draft manuscript we saw a year ago, and reading over the tweaks and revisions the team made for the backer PDF have made me love it even more. Thanks to the feedback of everyone who supported the campaign a year ago, I think the game has been opened up to more groups and playstyles.
The Onyx Path team have similarly collected your feedback on the Backer PDF and are doing their best to ensure typos and text are as perfect as they can be for the final release to the public. I'll keep tabs on Onyx Path's announcements and let you know when the book has been finalized (and also available to order in the print-on-demand format).
WEAR YOUR CURSE
Onyx Path have recently released a bunch of Curseborne designs on their Redbubble store.
Here are two things you know from supporting this campaign:
First, these projects take time to put together, even if the Onyx Path team have a fully-written draft manuscript. Just think - it's already been a year since we first read the Curseborne drafts!
Secondly, backers make these things better! Your participation and feedback helps the team shed light on some of the dark corners of the game, ensuring the setting and rules are communicated in the best way for the most players.
To ensure that this amazing game line continues to evolve at a reasonable pace and the material is solid, the Onyx Path crew are currently Kickstarting the Curseborne Player's Guide!
This book is divided into three sections, first expanding on the varieties and culture of the Accursed, then presenting advice and guidance for exploring these concepts, and finally introducing entirely new ways for players to approach Curseborne.
Families and Orphans
New Families introduces new families of Accursed for players to be and know.
Family Gatherings discusses the particular social dynamics that arise when Accursed of the same Family assemble.
Orphans introduces an option for Accursed who do not find themselves aligned with a Family, by fortune or by choice.
Before and After
Becoming Accursed discusses the circumstances that give rise to Damnation, and the lives people lead before the curse changes them. On top of ideas for your character’s history, we talk about how to play your character before their curse strikes.
Living in Your Skin delves further into the experience of being an Accursed of each Lineage, including roleplaying tips and concepts to work on to deepen your character’s presentation.
You Can’t Pick Your Family presents new voices from each Family, including those introduced in this book, as they share advice and secrets about the Family life.
Picking at the Bones
New Mechanics provides new Role Paths, new Lineage Torments, and new spells for each of the Lineages’ practices.
Venators provides an option for a different type of character from the Accursed. Players can take on the role of monster hunters who have complex relationships with the Accursed and risk everything to purge the world of cursed creatures.
Template Character Creation is a special tool for making characters quickly, for the hurried, the daunted, and the lovers of random tables.
As they did with the Curseborne corebook campaign last year, Onyx Path is sharing the draft manuscript with backers over the course of the Kickstarter. So anyone who joins in will be able to read the entire book (in current draft form) by Halloween, before any pledges are processed or payments collected.
